Popularized in the 1960's and 70's during the height of the Catholic Charismatic renewal, this song continues to reverberate through the souls of hungry seekers wherever it is sung.

I recall driving to Davenport, Iowa to sing "They will know we are Christians by our love" with our Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ. 

To this day (I am writing in December, 2024) It turns my stomach to hear anybody denigrating Catholics who have given their lives to Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.

Yes, I know that Catholics vary widely around the world. Yes, I'm aware that in Mexico, Catholicism is mixed with animism to a shocking degree. (I have personally witnessed unfortunate souls crawling painfully on their knees in a misguided attempt to obtain favor from God.

Yes, I teach the facts that while there is much error in the Roman Catholic church, there is also much truth. Does your church include any doctrinal error? Or is your church perfect?

This song and lyrics proclaims the unity of believers in Jesus Christ. 

There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:4-5

Together with Catholic believers we have joined to make gains for the pro-life movement in our city. One of the highlights of my ministry has been to call together the body of Christ in our local city. Together we have stood on the courthouse steps to defeat Riverboat Gambling in our city.

Several times we have assembled together in one location to celebrate Thanksgiving and the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Praise God for sending Jesus Christ our Savior!
